ERI@ST. MARY CHURCH IN CWB

This time I would like to introduce a very special architecture, the St. Mary Church in Causeway Bay. It totally shows the fusion culture of Hong Kong, combination of the West & the East.
As you can see on the above, the church has mixed the traditional Chinese architecture style with red wall representing happiness and green roof representing good health.

There are many totem looking like "cloud", representing the heaven and closing to the God. Yellow color is used that means the royalty in China and holy worship in the West.

The upper one is the totem of longevity in China, the lower one is the totem used in the church. We can see that it combines the holy corss and longevity, means that it accept both of the humanism and the belief of God.

It is a really, really great architecture perfectly showing the harmony of the mixture of western culture and eastern culture, like Hong Kong. If all of us can go a further step, one world will not be a dream. And I am looking forward to see one world sometime in the future. If you want to know more the St. Mary Churh, you can visit http://dhk.hkskh.org/stmary/aboutus.aspx?id=12 .
